The telegraph brings the sad news that John Hoisington, son of A. J. Hoisington, of Union township, who was on his way to Kansas, was drowned in Missouri. No further particulars have been received.

DROWNING OF MR. HOISINGTON
We have further particulars as to the death by drowning of Mr. John Hoisington, late of Union township. He and Mr. M. Howell, of Crawford township, started in a wagon for Kansas to look at the country. On Sunday they were in camp near Hopkins, Missouri. They went into the river to bathe and take their Sunday morning wash when Mr. Hoisington got in too deep water and not being a swimmer was drowned before he could be assisted. His father, Mr. A. J. Hoisington, was notified by telegraph of the sad accident, and started at once for his son's remains. He met them at Creston and brought them home for interment. The deceased leaves a wife and child. Mr. A. J. Hoisington desires us to request the Creston papers to thank the many good people of that city for the kindness they showed to him and the sympathy they extended him. A stranger, they took him in; in trouble, they visited him.290
