JOSIAH, b. 19 Mar 1675; d. 14 Aug 1754, in his 79th year (Reading
VRs); m. at Reading, 19 Dec 1700, SUSANNA GOODWIN, prob. the
Susanna b. at Reading 23 Oct 1681, dau. of Nathaniel & Susannah
Goodwin. Josiah & Susannah (Goodwin) Browne lived in Roxbury,
Reading & Stoneham. On the 1st of Feb 1703/4, Josiah Browne of
Roxbury, sold to Edward Browne of Lynn, 20 acres of land in
Reading, with one house & one barn, bounded by John Browne, John
Dix, Hananiah Parker; land Josiah bought from Cornelius Browne.
Also 4 acres of upland &swamp, & 4 acres of woodland. Signed,
Josiah & Susanna Browne. Witnesses: Benj. Hutchinson, John Dix,
John Brown, Jr. (Middlesex Deeds, 14:457). On the 29th of Mar
1710, David Colson of Boston sold to Josiah Browne of Reading, for
21 pounds, 4 acres in Wigwam Meadow (ibid., 24:588). On 18 Feb
1746/7, Josiah Browne of Stoneham, sold to Timothy Poole of Lynn,
for 380 pounds, 26 acres in Reading. Witnesses were Jonathan
Browne & Brown Emerson (ibid., 49:128). Children, born at Reading:
1. Nathaniel, b. 19 Apr 1706; d. 28 Jan 1781, a. 74 y. 8 m. 29 d.
(Reading VRs). 2. Jacob, b. 6 May 1708; d. 9 Nov 1728. 3. Ephriam,
b. 23 May 1711; m. at Stoneham, 18 May 1736, Dorithy Green
(Stoneham VRs). 4. Susanna, b. 15 Feb 1712/13. 5. Abiel, b. 7 July
1715; m. at Stoneham, 25 Mar 1736, Sarah Green of Stoneham
(ibid.). 6. & 7. Hannah & Huldah, twins, b. 3 June 1717; Huldah m.
at Lynn, 29 Nov 1739, Adam Hawkes of Lynn (ibid.). 8. Jonathan, b.
26 July 1720; m. at Stoneham, 2 Sept Mehittable Hay of Stoneham
(ibid.). 9. Timothy, b. 2 June 1723. 10. Mary, b. 20 Aug 1725; d.
