EDWARD2 BROWNE (Nicholas1) was born at Reading, Mass., 15 August 1640
(Reading VRs), and died there 26 April 1685 (ibid.). He married at Reading, 21 July 1679, SARAH DIX (Reading VRs), who was born, probably at Ipswich, Mass., but birth not recorded, the daughter of Ralph and Esther Dix of Ipswich and Reading (Eaton, Hist. of Reading, 62; Russell Leigh Jackson, "Edward Brown of Newbury, Mass. and Some of His Descendants," Register, 97 [1943]: 260). Sarah married, second, at Lynn, Mass., 24 November 1685, Thomas Laughton (Lynn VRs;
Essex Antiquarian, XIII:138).
