Note:
William Clendennen and his wife Helen Ellender Fowler, lived in VA, TN, and then KY but settled in Jefferson City, Cole County, near the Mississippi River. They had 10 children. William and Helen died only 10 days apart - we do not know if it was from a disease.
The following is from "Death Records of Missouri from Newspapers 1808-1854" by George F. Wilson 1981, page 34: Clendennen, William, aged 70 died Jan. 30, 1844. He was married 47 years and raised 10 children, 9 of whom lived in Cole Co. Source: Jefferson City Republican, 10 Feb. 1844. The obituary in the Jefferson Republican also claimed of William: " He was an honest man and can be claimed of course, among the noblest works of God."
They were in Cole County on the 1830 and 1840 census records.
The following is from "Death Records of Pioneer Women 1808-1849" on Film F-508.3 M691 by Stanley/Wilson 1984, page 13: "Clendennen, Mrs. wife of William died 19 January 1844, age 66. Married 47 years raised 10 children, 9 of whom were living in Cole Co." Source: Jefferson City Republican, 10 Feb. 1844.
