I'll take your word for it -- on being third cousins!

As you may now see, I am the daughter of Chester Bower, son of George Bower.
Paul is my brother and Miriam is my sister.

I've been printing out the pages so I can arrange a family tree. However, I
don't find Bruce. Is he the son of Art Bower (whose father was Henry).
Strange twist of fate. After my mother died in 1981, my father went back to
visit in Fairview and reestablished connections with Mary Bower, the widow
of Art. They got married, but it didn't last much more than a year.

Attached is one of the photos of the Bower store -- I think in Fairview, but
could have been Commerce OK. Don't know the date. I have the impression
that all the siblings (children of Adam) were involved in the store.

I'll start putting together other info and send it along. Also attached is
a picture from last Christmas of my family. Left to right are me, my
daughter Laura, my son Chris, and Laura's housemate Scott. Dogs, being part
of the family, are Buster and Pepper.

Here's some "fill in the blanks" information for you to use as you wish.

On your George Bower (son of Adam) page: Edna A. Caldwell was the daughter of John S. Caldwell (born July 26, 1849; died May 4, 1901) and Magdalen Edwards (born Nov. 18, 1854; died April 17, 1902). (Birth dates are approximate, figured from date of death.) They were married Oct. 21, 1874 in Albia Iowa.

Edna and George Bower married June 15, 1904 in Fairview.

My father, their son, Chester Lee Bower, was born April 23, 1905 and died Aug. 8, 1999. My mother, Retha Mae Dausman, was born Jan. 3, 1902 and died September 10, 1983. She was the daughter of Rosa Crow and Albert Dausman. My parents were married July 3, 1929, Evanston IL.

I married Charles W. Henning on July 2, 1966. He was born on July 29, 1929 and died May 28, 1997. He was the son of Charles W. Henning (Sr.) and Genevieve Buehler.

My children are Laura Lee Henning, born Jan. 3, 1968 and Christopher Ward Henning, born May 10, 1970.

Attached is a picture of my father as a radio operator on a merchant marine ship, probably around 17 or 18 years old.
