He was 24 years old when he married in 1810 in Gerhardsbrunn

Valentin took over the Scharrmühle House from his father. He also took over the accompanying land on Dec 12th, 1812 for the sum of 4.400 fl, but he also had to pay each sister 1.100 fl. Besides that, in 1818, he purchased, together with Adam Bruegel of Scharrhof 12 Hektars of the far reaching Scharrwald for 4.000 Fl. Valentin Höh could not keep up with these obligations and the high cost of living at that time, so he was forced to sell. He then emmigrated to America with his family.

(There is no birth date for Valetine, but we know that he is the oldest son of Theobald Höh and wife Elisabetha Zimmer of Scharrmühle.

In the village family book the year of the marriage is listed as 1810, in the farm book it is listed as 9 Dec 1809.

The family, with their children, emigrated to America in about 1827.
