Another pioneer name associated with the Covenanter cause is that
of Sproull. James Sproull settled in Allegheny Touwnship first, and
then his brother, Robert Sproull, brought his bride to the same
area in 1796. He purchased a farm called Brookland from which the
congregation in that area derived its name. From amny years Robert
Sproull's family alone maintained the Covenanter standard in their
area.
