From the Portsmouth Tribune, Thursday, November 28, 1844:


DIED - On Thursday the 21st inst., at his residence in Springville, Kentucky., of congestive fever, Capt. William Dupuy, in his 74th year. The deceased was a highly respectable and influential citizen of Greenup County - a consistent and zealous Christian, and has left a large circle of relatives and friends to deplore his loss.

In the name of God amen. I, William DUPUY, of sound and disposing mind, though weak in body, knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die, make this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all other wills by me made, and confirming this my last will and testament.

First of all I commit myself unto the hands of God, and ordain that my body be decently and in a Christian-like manner, buried, and firstly I give and bequeath to my, daughter, Eveline PREWITT, three hundred and fifty dollars which is now in hand, and should she die without issue, then, and in that case, to be divided between any legatees, Elizabeth M. JACKSON, Judith STEVENSON, and Albert G.DUPUY, and further that the monies in the hands of my son Moses, which ___? to me, to be equally divided between my legatees.

Eveline PREWITT, Elizabeth M. JACKSON, Judith STEVENSON, and Albert G. DUPUY having received one hundred and fifty dollars, Eveline having received three hundred and fifty dollars, and Judith having received two hundred dollars and Elizabeth M. JACKSON having received nothing, it is my will in the event, that the above named legatees be made equal.

I desire that Elizabeth JACKSON be first paid two hundred dollars, and then the balance be equally divided amongst the above described legatees, including Elizabeth M. JACKSON.

I further give and bequeath my son Jesse L. DUPUY, all that land lying and being in the County of Greenup, State of Kentucky, opposite Portsmouth an the Ohio River, lying immediately by the lot of lands sold to I____ V. ROBINSON and Moses F. DUPUY from the Ohio to the top of the hill, containing six acres, on conditions that, he, Jesse L. DUPUY, pay to the above described legatees, three hundred dollars, to be paid in three equal annual installments, and to be equally divided among the above legatees, when paid, and further, that the said Jesse L. DUPUY take care of his mother, and further I say not.

I William CORUM, Clerk of the County Court of Greenup County, in the State of Kentucky, do certify, that at a County Court held for said County at the Courthouse, Monday the 2d day of December, 1844, this last will and testament of William DUPUY, deceased, was produced to me in open Court, and proven to be the last will and testament of the said William DUPUY by the oath of John WILSON as subscribing witness thereto, and ordered to be recorded, whereupon the said will, together with this certificate, hath been duly recorded in my office.

She appeared on the census on 24 Sep 1850 in First District, Greenup County, Kentucky. (71) William Dupuy and Margaret "Peggy" Littlejohn had the following children:
