I thought I had sent a copy of this photo to you with the names, but perhaps not. I, too, have an original, but the right corner is cut off. The photo was taken before 1898, because Victor Dupont Rees died that year. I would say it is more than likely around 1889 or 1890. My grandfather is in the photo, but not his wife, Hattie, whom he married in 1896, and Franklin Rees died in Sept. of 1903. Also, the children's ages correspond to an earlier year. Edwin Craig was born in 1887, and he looks to be about two or three years old in this photo. Most of the names you sent are correct, but a few are not.
Top row: L-R Mary Welch Rees, (wife of Boyd Rees), Charles Duncan Rees, (Decatur's son,) Mary Alma Rees (Victor and Augusta's oldest daughter), Boyd Lee Rees,(oldest son of Victor and Augusta) Victor Dupont Rees, Arthur Gordon Rees, (only son of Franklin Rees) and Laura Luna Rees, (youngest daughter of Victor and Augusta Rees)
Middle row: L-R Phebe Duncan Rees (Decatur's wife), Rollin Raymond Rees,
(Victor and Augusta Rees' son and my grandfather), Augusta Rees, Edwin Craig Rees
being held by his father, Decatur Stout Rees, Katherine Shaltenbrand Rees,(wife of Franklin Rees), Franklin Carroll Rees.
Front row: L-R Nora May Rees,(eldest daughter of Franklin Rees), Pearl Stout Rees,
(youngest daughter of Decatur Rees), Olivia Ellen Rees (daughter of Franklin Rees), and
Georgia Ellen (Phyllis) Rees, (eldest daughter of Decatur Rees)
Victor and Augusta Rees had seven children, but three of them, (Olive, Wilbur, and Griffin) died of diptheria within three months (Nov. 1884-1885) I emailed a photo of all seven of them to you earlier this year. I hope it went through. If not, I will resend it. Boyd, Rollin, Mary and Laura Rees were the four who survived and are in this photo. Decatur, Franklin, and Victor were three of the four Kansas Rees brothers. Jacob Griffin Rees and his wife, Elnora Stamm, are not in this photo which was probably taken in Minneapolis. Jacob lived in Greely, Kansas. Boyd and his wife, Mary, eventually settled in Orange, California, along with brother Rollin, and sister Laura, who by then had divorced Charles Kent (before he was killed during a bank robbery in Minneapolis) Mary Alma Rees married Joseph Tomlinson who was for a time the warden of Leavenworth prison. Her daughter, Lydia Tomlinson McKinney mentions this in her written family history,
