When George Jacobs was born on February 4, 1831, his father, Josiah, was 24 and his mother,
Mary, was 26. He married Mary Clymer on January 14, 1860, in Bradford, Yorkshire, England.
They had five children during their marriage. He died on March 18, 1899, at the age of 68.

Since the first four children were born in England, and George W. was born in Canada, it would seem that they came to Canada in about 1875 and to the USA in about 1879.
