1457Hi Ken,
Sorry to be tardy in getting back to you. Here is some info on the Sproull Boys:
> They were the sons of John Calvin Sproull and Emma Martha Steele. i have data on the Sproull family going back quite far.
> Far right in picture (tallest) is Ralph David Sproull (nickname Lefty). Lefty was an All American Basketball Player in 1915 at the University of Kansas. He was born October 27, 1893 and died August 24, 1981. He married Merle Clark on September 7, 1918, Later he married Sarah Weeks and still later he married Edna Hertel Severn. Late in life, Lefty also married Cynthia. I don't have a record here of her full name. I knew Lefty quite well and also knew Sarah, Edna and Cynthia. Lefty had a way with the ladies. Out of all these marriages, no children were born. Lefty lived most of his life in California and was heavily involved with the Boy Scouts.
> In the center of the picture is John Steele Sproull, born October 5, 1890. "Steele" died June 3, 1956. He was married to Cloe Velma Lamb, October 8, 1014 in Lyon County, KS. Steele was an Electrical Engineer with Illinois Power Company and lived most of his life with Cloe in Morris, IL They had two sons.
> My dad is on the left, William Cargill Sproull Sr.
Hope this helps. I could go on and on about Lefty. We were great friends.
Many thanks,
Bill
