Obituary of Elizabeth J. Milby . . . .was born Oct 4th 1844 in Kenton County, Kentucky; married to Edward T. Milby Aug 29 1872 in Rushville, Illinois; died at her home 3 miles east of Rushville May 14th, 1880. She was converted and joined the M.E. Church during the pastorate of Rev. W. J. Rutledge in Rushville, where she continued her membership until death. She lived a consistant christian life, was a kind friend and neighbor, and affectionate, faithful wife and mother patient in all her protracted and severe suffering and triumphant in the hour of death. She rests from her labors and her works follow her.

She was born Oct 1, 1842 In Kenton Co., Kentuky (just over the Ohio River from Cincinatti She was orphaned at an early age and was raised by her uncle Frank Top­man Her father's grave is in a small cemetary on the Tupman farm almost at the end of the runway of the Cincinatti air­port. The cemetary Is now surrounded by a trailer coart. It is not known how she got to Illinois where she met and married Edward Milby after the death of his first wife. She suffered most of her married life with Scrofula (tuherculosis of the lymphatic system) and died of the disease at the age of 37
